The Aroma Trail
The Aroma Trail is a guided walk through the spice and organic gardens of Adigar’s Manor, offering guests a sensory introduction to the ingredients that define Sri Lankan cuisine, wellness, and daily tradition.
Led by the guest’s assigned butler, this experience takes guests through a carefully planted garden of around 15 to 20 spices, herbs, and traditional plants. Along the way, guests can discover cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, black pepper, nutmeg, mace, turmeric, ginger, lemongrass, pandan leaves, betel leaves, curry leaves, vanilla, sandalwood, halmilla, coriander, and other seasonal varieties.
Each plant is named and explained, giving guests a better understanding of how these ingredients are used in our kitchen, in traditional Sri Lankan cooking, and in local culture.
The trail also connects guests with our organic garden, where we grow seasonal fruits and produce such as passion fruit, pineapple, and different varieties of mango. Where possible, these estate-grown fruits are used in our welcome drinks, fresh juices, and selected dishes, creating a beautiful garden-to-glass and garden-to-table connection.
This experience also reflects our sustainability values, as we continue to grow and use more of our own produce within the estate, reduce unnecessary sourcing where possible, and celebrate the natural ingredients of Sri Lanka.

Garden to Table
For guests who wish to explore Sri Lankan cuisine more deeply, our cooking demonstration offers a relaxed and memorable culinary experience.
This can be arranged as a standalone activity or beautifully combined with The Aroma Trail. After walking through the spice and organic garden, guests can continue into a cooking demonstration where our team showcases how traditional Sri Lankan dishes are prepared using local spices, herbs, coconut, curry leaves, and fresh ingredients.
Guests may choose to take part in the experience hands-on or simply observe and enjoy the demonstration at a relaxed pace. It is an ideal way to understand how Sri Lankan flavours are created, from the garden to the kitchen.

Paddy Fields, Temple Murals & Kandyan Heritage
Degaldoruwa Temple Excursion
A short distance from Adigar’s Manor lies Degaldoruwa Temple, one of the region’s most meaningful heritage and spiritual sites.
Guests are accompanied by their assigned butler on a peaceful walk through the surrounding paddy fields, offering a slow and authentic way to experience the rural beauty around Amunugama. The walk itself is part of the experience, allowing guests to connect with the landscape, village life, and the calm surroundings of the estate.
At the temple, the butler will guide guests through the history and significance of the site, including its traditional artwork, Buddhist heritage, and connection to the Kandyan period. Upon request and subject to temple arrangements, guests may also experience Buddhist chanting, creating a deeper and more meaningful spiritual moment.
This excursion supports a slower, more respectful form of travel, encouraging guests to explore nearby heritage sites on foot while appreciating the village surroundings and cultural identity of the area.

A Peaceful Ritual Within the Property
Buddha Statue Visit
Within the grounds of Adigar’s Manor, guests may visit the Buddha statue for a quiet moment of reflection before beginning their day or setting out to explore Kandy.
Guests can inform their assigned butler before leaving the property or upon returning from an excursion, and the butler will gently guide them through the local tradition of worshipping Lord Buddha in a respectful and meaningful way.
This simple yet beautiful experience allows guests to understand an important part of Sri Lankan Buddhist culture. It offers a peaceful pause before a day of sightseeing, temple visits, or local discovery.

Eco-Friendly Kandy Discovery
Adigar’s Manor Electric Tuk-Tuk Experience
Within the grounds of Adigar’s Manor, guests may visit the Buddha statue for a quiet moment of reflection before beginning their day or setting out to explore Kandy.
Our branded electric tuk-tuk can be arranged for city tours, town visits, sightseeing, or short local hires upon request. Whether guests wish to visit Kandy town, the lake area, local markets, viewpoints, cultural landmarks, or simply enjoy a relaxed ride through the city, this experience offers a fun and flexible way to discover the surroundings.
As an electric tuk-tuk, this experience also supports a more sustainable approach to local travel, reducing emissions while offering guests a memorable and characterful way to explore Kandy.

Traditional Cultural Show
Adigar’s Court of Dance & Drum
On selected high-occupancy evenings, Adigar’s Manor brings Sri Lankan heritage to life through Adigar’s Court of Dance & Drum, a traditional cultural performance inspired by the royal customs of Kandy.
This experience reflects a time when noble Adigars were entertained with ceremonial drumming and traditional dance before dinner. Today, we recreate that spirit through an elegant pre-dinner cultural showcase featuring rhythm, movement, colour, and storytelling. The cultural show is designed as a royal Kandyan tradition brought to life through ceremonial drums, traditional dance, rhythm, elegance, and celebration.
The performance is also closely connected to Amunugama, a village with a rich cultural history and strong links to Kandyan dance traditions. Many of the performers are from the surrounding village community, allowing Adigar’s Manor to support local artists while preserving and celebrating the cultural identity of the area.
This experience forms part of our commitment to cultural sustainability, ensuring that local traditions are not only performed, but respected, supported, and passed on to future generations.
The performance may include traditional items such as Magul Bera, Pooja Dance, Naga Raksha Mask Dance, Pantheru Narthanaya, Gajaga Narthanaya, Raban Narthanaya, Ves Dance, Gini Sisila Fire Dance, and a traditional Drum Orchestra. These items bring together ceremonial drumming, devotional dance, mask performance, folk rhythm, Kandyan dance, and fire dance traditions.
Experience Note: The cultural show is offered on the house on selected high-occupancy evenings. Dinner, beverages, and any additional dining orders will be chargeable as per the guest’s selection.
